Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire is a sleepy neighborhood on the island of Montreal named"the West Island. People unfamiliar with the term tend to think it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal however, in reality this part of West Island is home to anything and everything that is found in Lachine west to Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West island, though her stay was short. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa. Her early ambition was to be a dancer, however, her growth spurt led to that she grew beyond her dance partner. In a piece in The Toronto Star she admitted, "In heels at 6' 1 inch. When I outgrew my male friends I became a bit too big and quit. Many former dancers turn to acting and in the case of Brugel it was a suggestion from a high school drama teacher who pushed her to take a step in the right direction. It was suggested that she try out for roles in the school's production. The student tried it out, and was cast as the leading role for the role of Rita in Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theatre Program which she completed in 2000 with a bachelor's of art degree in fine arts.
